I thought I’d share a little update,it hasn’t been the most productive week as we reach closer to Christmas. We’ve had sickness bugs, earache, infections. You name it, the household has been on big loop of nasty bugs which hasn’t exactly made the Christmas prep easy on any of us (thank the Lord for online shopping).
Waking up this morning after another sickness spell through the night, we had a sluggish start, missed two dance classes and breakfast. I mean, I had two chocolate rounds from M&S if that can be deemed acceptable for breakfast? I’ll go with it. Having planned a Christmas day out, we skipped on all the plans and headed out for some fresh air to the forest. A happy place of ours.
We packed ourselves and fern our dog into the car and set off. Picked up some hot chocolates for the drive and had out best muddy puddle boots on. Eleanor was all set with her glitter wellies and raring to go chasing after Fern. I actually expected her to fall into a big mud puddle but gladly we managed to avoid any full coverage. Phew.
The walk was nice and chilled, a slower pace with Eleanor running alongside of us and Fern on a doddle but it was exactly what was needed after a week of illness and discomfort. I was glad to be soaking up some fresh air and a little hint of sunlight, Eleanor was just delighted to be running around outside freely with her pooch.
I snapped some pictures which I will share below for you all. Isn’t it amazing what a dose of fresh air can do for the mind, body and soul?

As you can see the ground was frosted over slightly, the mud was as present as ever and my Daughter was ecstatic. I’m off to boil the kettle and have myself a cuppa, listen to a Christmas playlist and begin the marathon wrapping of gifts. My lot are having a well deserved snoozepod as Eleanor would say, cuddled up beneath the covers.
Happy Saturday guys, have a wonderful weekend.
